Human Resources Manager
Location: Oxnard, CA
This position is responsible for providing comprehensive HR leadership for Monsanto’s NAFTA Commercial group. This position is based in Oxnard, California, with accountability for Commercial employees based in Mexico and USA.
This position will report to the Americas HR Lead with strong matrix reporting to the Mexico Commercial Lead. Additionally, strong working relationships with the Row Crop Mexico HR team will be required.
The individual will lead various programs and work closely with people leaders by providing HR expertise as well as ensuring compliance with laws, policies and procedures. The major responsibilities include employee and leadership development and coaching, employee relations, and acting as strategic partner on all key HR initiatives.
Key Accountabilities:
Develop effective relationships with key business leaders.
Gain a clear understanding of current and future business strategies in order to define and implement effective people strategies.
Demonstrate active leadership during organizational change efforts.
Influence business leaders in controversial and/or complex situations.
Apply appropriate HR skills to effectively solve business and people issues.
Act as coach/consultant to people managers. Provide counsel and assist employees and people managers in resolving complex Human Resource problems, including disciplinary counseling, legal issues and terminations.
Ensure effective application of all basic HR processes.
Partner with appropriate HR specialist teams to deliver HR excellence. This includes staffing, employee relations, organizational development, compensation and benefits.
Assist in developing and implementing diversity and people development efforts.

At least 8 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources or a related field.
Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.
Ability to partner with management to determine HR implications of business strategy and plan actions accordingly.
Ability to set consistent HR direction and practice across multiple locations.
Working knowledge of general HR processes, and ability to leverage centralized corporate resources as applicable.
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work comfortably with and influence all levels of a diverse organization.
Ability to work well in a highly matrixed environment.
Approximately 25% travel.
